A day at the zoo

Last Saturday, my hubby’s boss and his girlfriend brought us to the Taipei Zoo. We were so excited to see once more other creatures that coexist with man. We learned that our friends haven’t been to the zoo for several years now that’s why it was not a surprise to us when we got lost in the road few times after we dropped to buy our meals from none other but the famous Mc Donalds store.

The weather forecast said it was going to rain in the morning so we brought an umbrella. Luckily, it did not. It turned out to be just another very hot day. The zoo is very wide so we took the shuttle to get to the farthest area and would soon walk back. I’d say we weren’t so comfortable walking around because of the weather that we only took very few pictures. I wasn’t really in a pictorial mood. Our friend offered to take a picture of us but we declined. My hubby took shots only of the animals we’ve never seen in other zoos. The following pictures show how lazy we were then. Even our hosts were not in a very good mood for they too were too conscious of the heat. We expected to spend half of the day walking around but it turned out that we were able to tour the area for just more than an hour stopping only for few minutes on each animal cage or simply passing by each one of them.

My hubby's favorite is the Bongo, a large forest antelope of central Africa having a reddish-brown coat with white stripes and spiral horns

Another member of the deer family. Notice the curly horn =)

They too, seem uncomfortable, or they just want to get an afternoon nap...

I guess this hippo rolled over the mud that's why it turned brown =)

While these two are about to doze off...
